volunteer spotlight

Name:  Jean-Michel Serra

How long have you volunteered with HFHQC?  I have been volunteering with HFHQC for a little over a year and a half now.

What is your favorite volunteer activity?  I like all of the hands-on type work, such as framing, flooring, and installing drywall.

Why HFHQC?  As an immigrant to the United States, I always felt a need to serve my country. First, I joined the U.S. Army, then worked over 32 years as a civilian with the Department of the Army. Plus, my wife says I’m happier when I come home after a day of volunteering.

What do you do when you are not volunteering with HFHQC?  I enjoy listening to music and collecting all types of genres, in addition to reading history books and fiction novels. I’m not able to play soccer any more, but enjoy watching it whenever I can. Finally, I work on my own to-do list around the house and yard.

Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us, Jean-Michel!

Huge Thank You to everyone who turned out for the 2023 QC Home Show in Febuary. We talked to a lot of visitors and made some vendor connections that we’re hoping turn into more donated materials. It was a big success and the items from our booth have been selling well.
