Johnson County Awards IVHFH Funding for Emergency Repairs

Through the American Rescue Plan Act, Johnson County has designated funds for emergency home repairs to be carried out by IVHFH. This award makes critical funding available to aid our Emergency Repair and Major Appliance Replacement program (ERMAR) into 2024. ARPA is a financial relief package from the federal government aimed at helping communities recover from the pandemic.

Johnson County Social Services Director, Lynette Jacoby says, “People have to sometimes make difficult choices about scaling back prescriptions or eating less in order to make a repair. Sometimes we take for granted some of those simple things in our life that we can easily remedy. But for a lot of folks, they just don’t have the financial capacity to make those emergency repairs to their home.”

We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Johnson County and look forward to working together to keep our neighbors living safely in their homes.
