Name: Rich Craddick How long have you volunteered with Habitat? I was one of several volunteers who transitioned from Rebuilding Together to Habitat when the organizations merged resources. Being involved with this type of volunteer experience actually began in the 80's when the Davenport Jaycees coordinated a Quad City Paintathon. I started volunteering with Hearts and Hammers in the 90's. This led to serving as a house captain and then to a board of directors' position with Rebuilding Together. I currently serve as a site supervisor for Habitat and on the Board of Directors. What is your favorite construction/volunteer activity? Being able to be involved in a repair project from the initial visit with the family, preparing the home assessment, and then assisting with the execution of the task list. WHY do you volunteer with HFHQC? This is always a difficult question for me to put into words. It provides me an opportunity to work with motivated, passionate, dedicated, and skilled individuals all with a common goal to make a difference in the community where we live. What do you do when you are not volunteering with Habitat? Volunteer with Quad City Botanical Center, American Chemical Society, Scott County Master Gardeners, Davenport Jaycee Foundation, and St. Ambrose University Arts and Science Council. Thank you Rich for sharing your time and talents with us! |
