Mr. & Ms. Habitat

Mr. & Ms. Habitat 2023 was a success! Although we didn't quite reach our goal of $70,000, we raised nearly $65,000 (gross) for building and repairing homes in the Quad Cities. Thank you to our sponsors, donors, contestants, attendees, and volunteers who contributed to our fundraiser!

CONGRATULATIONS to Ms. Habitat 2023, Linda Creighton!

Special thanks to our presenting sponsors Modern Woodmen of America and American Bank & Trust. Thank you also to our gold hammer sponsor 3M, silver hammer sponsor IMEG, bronze hammer sponsors Ascentra Credit Union, Iowa American Water, Tyson Foods, and Whitey's Ice Cream, and all of our amazing table sponsors.

Central City Repair Program

Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities has started a new neighborhood project in Davenport thanks to the support of the John Deere Foundation.

Repair projects will range from exterior repairs (ex: porches), critical home repairs (ex: minor electrical or minor plumbing), weatherization (ex: windows, gutters, doors), life safety (ex: smoke alarms and fire extinguishers), and accessibility (ramps, grab bars, etc.).

Thanksgiving hours

The Administrative office will be closed Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24. We wil not have any construction sites open on Saturday, November 25.

The ReStore will be closed on Thursday, November 23. We will be OPEN Friday and Saturday. ReStore will be closed on Tuesday, November 28- no donations will be accepted that day.

changes to gift acknowledgments

Beginning January 1, we will be switching to producing one annual statement for monetary gifts, rather than every time you give. Statements for 2024 donations will go out January 2025. We hope this will be easier for our donors for accounting purposes, and it will save a significant amount of paper which is good for the environment and our bottom line. If you prefer to receive an acknowledgement letter right away, you may contact us at any time and we can make that happen! Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

employee build

The Habitat for Humanity QC campus came together on Tuesday, October 24 for a team build. Employees of the Restore, Health & Home, and Habitat Administrative Office took a break from their normal duties to construct the walls for house #142. In the coming weeks, the walls will be transported to the build site on W. 6th Street to be reassembled on the foundation.
