In a remarkable feat of perseverance and community collaboration, one of our dedicated case managers Ty Davidson was able to support an OAR client in a situation that is, unfortunately, all too common. The client had been grappling with a 50-year-old legal barrier, making it nearly impossible to obtain stable housing. After securing a temporary funded probation hotel stay, the client faced a tight deadline to find permanent housing. Through resourcefulness and determination, our case manager Ty worked to gain support from various community partners, ensuring the client remained sheltered, while they applied to over 18 different rooms for rent. Finally, their efforts paid off when the client was accepted into a sober living facility. The next challenge? Navigating life with roommates after years of alternative living situations. OAR support didn't stop there. Ty has continued coaching this client to their next milestone. This story is a reminder of the transformative power of community support and dedication, as we continue to break down barriers and change lives for the better. Ty and staff members like her work hard alongside clients so no one returning to the community is deprived of housing. |
