Dear Habitat Friends, As we reflect on the past year, we are reminded of the incredible power of our community’s collective efforts. Every house built and every home improved is the product of compassion, collaboration, and love. With your help, we are building promising futures for our neighbors, hand in hand. Imagine families like Nagi and Raddiya, who will soon walk into their new home together, filled with hope and possibility. Currently, they live in a small apartment with their three young children, navigating the challenges of working opposite schedules to provide for their family while avoiding the high cost of childcare. Despite their struggles, Nagi shares, “We are a normal family. We like to help people, and we enjoy having friends.” Together, we are helping this family not just build a house but create a loving home within a supportive community. Your generous support in 2024 will enable five families to build a permanent place to call home. Or imagine Jean and Bora among more than 40 additional families who will make affordable home repairs with Habitat in 2024. After a storm damaged their mobile home, they urgently needed repairs but lacked resources. Helping Hands Home Repair staff quickly stepped in, patching their roof and repairing gutters within days to prevent further damage and allow them to continue living safely in their home. Jean and Bora are now building a new home with Habitat, where they will raise their four young boys. After over a decade in a 1990s mobile home, they look forward to the peace of mind that homeownership will bring. “I will sing,” Bora says, excited for their upcoming move.
